School - Cadence MusicJeff Galea began teaching guitar from his home, in the western suburbs of Sydney, when he was 18 years old. Over the years his clientele increased to the stage where a larger studio was necessary. Jeff established Cadence Music School in 1997 at Pendle Hill and obtained the teaching services of Adam Silady. Adam was a former fellow student, both studying at the Australian Institute of Music, and was a great addition to the school.Since 1997 the school has expanded to include bass guitar and piano lessons. Over the years hundreds of students have learned music through attending Cadence Music School. The school currently has approximately 130 students enrolled. The variety in the students reflects the flexibility of the school and its approach to music education. Students of all ages and levels are welcome at Cadence Music. This open approach shows in the eclectic mix of students. The age and circumstance of each student varies significantly and we try to cater for each on an individual basis. The youngest students begin at around 5-6 years of age and the oldest to date is an 80 + year old man. Some of the students have gone on to become professional musicians/ entertainers while others just learn for their own enjoyment. All styles of music are taught, including:

Teachers at Cadence Music:Jeff Galea: (Guitar/ Bass/ Theory/ Musicianship/ Composition) - more info at www.jeffgalea.comAdam Silady: (Guitar/ Bass/ Theory/ Musicianship) Adam has a BMus from the Australian Institute of Music, majoring in Jazz/ Contemporary guitar. Adam has been with Cadence Music since i's inception. He has played in numerous bands/ duos such as Chartbusters and The Anthill Mob. He currently works as a session musician and performs regularly with Countdown Explosion (a 70's/ 80's concept band). Rita Klobas: (Piano/ Keyboard/ Theory/ Musicianship) Rita has a BMus in music performance from the University of NSW. Rita has been with Cadence Music for over five years. Rita spends most of her time, when not teaching, composing and performing music with original bands around Sydney. She is primarily a pianist but also sings and plays bass guitar. Joseph Blackman: (Piano/ Keyboard/ Theory) Joseph has been with us for three years now. He has played in many bands/ groups over the years as a pianist/ keyboardist. Jonathan Jayanthakumar: (Guitar/ Theory) Jonathan is an ex student of Cadence Music, having been one of the earliest students to attend the school. He has completed the CPM course held by the A.M.E.B and has been teaching now for two years. Harrisen Walden: (Bass/ Guitar/ Theory) Harrisen is the newest addition to the teaching staff at Cadence Music. He is currently studying at the Australian Institute of Music for his degree in performance, majoring in Jazz/ Contemporary Bass guitar.
