Jeff has composed numerous works for solo guitar and for strings, based on folk melodies, and works for chamber orchestra including "In Between Days" (2000) performed by the University of Sydney Orchestra. His string compositions have been workshopped with Fourplay at the Campbelltown Arts Centre in 2007, and he has composed for advertising, short and feature film, and animation projects. Jeff has acted as Music Director for two international tours by ex-The Drifters members Patrick Jackson and Wayne Foster (2006-2007), and for the television series Blue Water High. He is currently undertaking a PhD in Creative Arts in the Department of Music, University of Wollongong. In 2005 he completed a Master of Arts in the Department, researching the folk music of Malta and building on his Honours work at the University of Sydney under Anne Boyd. Jeff holds a Bachelor of Music (Composition) from the Australian Institute of Music. In 2008 he composed the opera Wounding Song, with grants from the Maltese Connection and Maltese Cultural Association, and produced by the University of Wollongong. Since 2004 Jeff has been the proprietor of Sydney music school, Cadence Music, providing tuition in guitar, bass, piano, theory and composition, and plays as a session guitarist for live performances and recordings.
